Usage I paid for no longer goes to waste.
A routine that warns me before my Grok Bot and Cursor quotas reset, and stays quiet when there's no reason to speak.
I noticed I keep losing usage I already paid for.
The Grok Bot and Cursor quotas reset, and I only find out after a lot of it went unused.
So on October 8, I asked Basher to warn me before the reset. (Basher runs my shluchim. That’s Hebrew for “emissaries”, and it’s what I call my AI agents.)
How it worked:
Basher didn’t guess.
First he sent a browser shaliach to the Grok Bot and Cursor dashboards. It read the included usage and the reset dates from there.
Then Basher set up a routine called “Usage alert before reset”. It runs on Wednesday and Thursday at 10:20, a day or two before the weekly reset, and also close to the monthly one.
Each run checks in the browser how much is left. If a lot is left, it writes to me and suggests tasks from the backlog (the task queue) worth running. If not, it stays quiet.

Pinch, double-tap or scroll over the image to zoom. Drag to move.
Why this is excellent:
A “use it or lose it” quota turns into one reminder, right on time.
No noise. Real data from the dashboard. And the leftover goes to real work from the backlog.
What to take from this:
First, read the real number. A browser shaliach on the dashboard beats any estimate.
A good routine knows how to stay quiet. It only writes when there’s a reason.
Schedule by the reset, not by the clock. Wednesday and Thursday, while there’s still time to use it.
An alert comes with a suggestion. Along with “you have some left”, it says “here’s what’s worth running”.
